Let not my worser spirit tempt me again

  • I’m Thinking Of…

The Death of Ganesan son of Ramalingam son of Ramasamy son of Arunasalam son of LadaMuthu or affectionately known as Ganz.

    How’s that for a title?

  • V-Ray

I just received my V-ray : The Complete Guide book from Italy.

This is by far the most expensive book I have ever bought;  how does $320 sound?

This 1024 page book weighs 3 kilograms and is in full colour.

It’s simply an awesome book about an awesome renderer.

  • Time Is Relative

It’s one of those weekend when there are way more things to be done that can be, so that choices must be made and priorities reset. In other words, I catch myself wishing secretly for one more day.

I forget sometimes, that time is not a constant. Thanks to Einstein I have but to change my point of view.

Ok. I haven’t exactly figured out how, but I’ll let you know. I suspect it will involve rearranging some priorities, mostly involving stuff I want to do versus stuff I have to get done.

Lots of work still needs to be done today. No time to rest.

  • Macbook Pro

Yap. I’m getting a 15″ Macbook Pro today.

Buying a second hand 3 month old pro.

So ends the era of Dell.

  • Dilemma of Sorts

I once had a 17″ mammoth workhorse of a laptop. I have since parted ways with it and it has found a most gracious host in the form of my brother who incidentally sits to my left constantly reminding me that I might have acted out in haste.

But the decision was made a long time ago. He deserves a better computer than his Acer Aspire which by the way didn’t aspire to be anything at all.

Right now, I am drowning in a sea of dilemma.

I want to use a laptop for my classes. I am planning to have my mindmaps and evernotes on it while I’m using the PC in the lab for demo purposes. The problem is I already own a netbook but it’s just too small and turtley slow. In fact I can use my company sponsored laptop to accomplish this very task. Unfortunately it’s ugly, slow, weighty and has no wireless capabilities. I could go out there and buy a dirt cheap laptop or simply invest in a workhorse laptop or dare say a Macbook pro.

These choices would have been easier had it not been for my obsession over the Wacom Cintiq and I am not talking about the 12WX version I am talking about the grand daddy of them all, the 21UX tablet that weighs 10 kilograms. It seems that ordering it direct from the United States is cheaper and somewhat more affordable.

Or perhaps the best thing to do is just to save the money and spend it on another continent.

An oh there’s a lot to be said about doing a simple job, doing it well and without distraction.

Once again—multitasking is overrated. And possibly a myth.

  • As always, I am reminded that there isn’t a lot I can do personally to change the mess we’re in. At best, I can be informed and make informed decisions.

I can teach the curious not to be sheep and I can ‘keep my own side of the street clean.’ I could go on about it here, but what would be the point? The people who read what I write are readers and generally thinkers. I’d be preaching to the choir.

President Carter tried to warn us. He told us if we didn’t change our priorities we’d be in exactly the place we are now. Did we listen? Obviously not, because here the fuck we are. I’m thinking things will have to get a lot worse before people are motivated to take action.

I have tired, and believe me it’s no easy task to explain this man.

This man tired to save us. If we listen, he still could.

There’s no shame, I admit he really writes better than me.
